I already knew that a vegan diet is healthful and nutritionally adequate and can help prevent and treat certain diseases, but it’s a big coup when the American Dietetic Association (ADA) says so too!

Now, the ADA has long said that vegetarian and vegan diets are appropriate for every stage of the life-cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence—and for athletes—but just recently, the ADA updated its position paper in support of vegetarianism. Among other things, the paper explains that healthy, plant-based diets can prevent—and even reverse—many life-threatening diseases, including cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.

The ADA also points out that well-planned (not just Oreos, pop tarts, and French fries, obviously) vegetarian diets can meet the recommendations for protein, n-3 fatty acids, iron, zinc, iodine, calcium, and vitamins D and B12, as well as other essential nutrients. Amazing Water Therapy

When you go to sleep for eight hours, your 100 Trillion cells are screaming for water, when you wake up. If you go have a cup of coffee (the caffeine tightens the tissue reducing circulation) and a donut ( which absorbs any available water and takes it out through the intestines) your 100 Trillion cells are still screaming for water.

Since you ignored your opportunity to hydrate the cells, they start dying at an abnormal rate. This large number of dehydrated, dead cells clog your circulatory system, kidneys and liver. Any food you eat during the day absorbs any available water.

Graying hair, balding, nervous outbursts, dark circles under the eyes – all these will not happen if you eat fruit on an empty stomach.

It is incorrectly presumed that some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic and will enhance acidity in the stomach. Research however shows that all fruits become alkaline in our body.


Drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans.

Don’t drink juice that has been heated up.

Don’t eat cooked fruits because you don’t get the nutrients at all. You only get the taste.
So stop making durian porridge if you want nutrients. Cooking fruit destroys all the vitamins.

Eating the pulp or whole fruit is far better than drinking the juice as the fiber is good for you.

If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.


A 3 day “fruit fast” is a very simple and effective way to cleanse and detoxify your body.
Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!
During the “fruit fast” you can eat different fruits at different times, although occasionally mixed fruit salad would also be permissible and more interesting.

Natural Treatment for Clinical Depression

One of the byproducts of our contemporary isolated life is depression. Depression can have devastating effects on our mind and body, the activities that we used to enjoy with friends and family could become lifeless.

Taking anti-depressants such as Prozac can be a mental and physical roller coaster. There are three problems with the anti-depressant drugs currently available on the market.

First, they fail to correct the behaviors that contribute to depression, or even show direction towards behavioral modifications, so the disorder recurs. Second, they do not improve the body’s own mechanisms for rectifying such disorders; rather, they temporarily force a change that gives symptomatic relief. Third, for some the severe side effects of these drugs can create major implications.

Worse yet, studies show for many people there are no drugs that can help. It is truly sad to hear about how many people commit suicide even when they are taking drugs regularly. Below you will find four natural ways to overcome depression without the use of any drugs.

1. Simple Brain Shift

One of the best techniques neuroscience research and brain mapping have developed is Brainswitching. Brainswitching is a power cognitive behavioral therapy that can be just as effective as anti-depressants.

Depression exists in the emotional part of the brain. Brainswitching uses basic mental exercises to switch the neuronal activity from the emotional part of the brain (the subcortex) to the thinking part of the brain (the neocortex) which does not have the capacity for depression.

Here’s an example of Brainswitching that you can try for yourself. Lets say you find yourself being depressed, instead of thinking “I am so down and depressed” make yourself busy with some trivial logical exercises or games. At such a time you can play games that involve logical thinking (chess, soduku, online puzzles, etc) or simply close your eyes and in your mind start singing your favorite song with full concentration. Refuse to think that you are depressed.

Concentrating your mind on some thought or song will block the cognitive awareness of the depression going on in the subcortex, the emotional part of your brain. This technique will increase the neuronal activity in the neocortex and decrease it in the subcortex, thus correcting the chemical imbalance that feeds depression.

2. Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3’s aid in the brain’s neuron connectivity and are important components of nerve cell membranes. People who do not get enough omega-3 fatty acids in their diet may be at an increased risk for depression. They help nerve cells communicate with each other, which is a vital step in maintaining good mental health.

Studies show that people who ate a healthy diet consisting of fatty fish 2-to-3 times per week for 5 years experienced a significant reduction in feelings of depression and hostility. If fish is not a regular part of your diet you can also take omega 3 fatty acids in a vitamin pill form (1000mg daily dosage).

Omega-3 Fatty acids are not only helpful for overcoming depression, but they are also used as treatment in diabetes, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, High Blood Pressure, Arthritis, and many more.


3. Aerobic Exercise

“Scientists recently discovered that exercise is as effective in fighting depression as Prozac and Xanax. Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.” – Bill Maher

Exercise and fresh air play a big part in keeping depression and mood swings at bay. By aiming to get outside and jogging at least three times a week for half an hour at a time helps you clear your hear, think straight and aids concentration. It also gives you that ‘runner’s high’ by releasing your endorphins that can instantly cheer you up.

Exercising is a good way to work through and release stress as well. It does not have to be fast paced jogging or running, just get your heart rate up to120 to 160 beats per minute depending on your age and condition.

Now an expanding body of research shows that exercise can improve the performance of the brain by boosting memory and cognitive processing speed. Exercise can, in fact, create a stronger, faster brain. This is possible because researchers believe that exercise can help the brain produce more seratonin which could prompt new neurons to grow. Low levels of seratonin have been associated with clinical depression.

Most antidepressant medications, such as Prozac, enhance the effectiveness of serotonin. Interestingly, these drugs take three to four weeks to begin working — about the same time required for new neurons to form and mature. So the reason these drugs could be effective during depression is because they increase neurogenesis. Just as exercise does.


4. Sleep

Improper sleeping patterns are both the cause and consequence of depression. So why does depression cause insomnia? The answer lies in the fact that people suffering from depression have a difficult time controlling the different mood and sleep hormones. The hormones you need to improve mood and energy are not the same ones you need to help you sleep.

Our body needs serotonin to be active and energetic during the day, and it needs melatonin to help us pull back and sleep. So if the body starts producing melatonin in the daytime it can cause us to feel dull, unstable, irritable and moody. Oftentimes, depression is the result of your body producing the wrong hormones at the wrong time of day.

This imbalance in the body clock can be caused from lack of sleep, stress, trauma, lack of light, or number of other factors. In scientific terms this is referred to as the Circadian Rhythm Disorder. Medical journals now report that depression is closely tied to circadian rhythm disorders. Being out in the sunlight for 30 minutes a day helps keep your internal body clock set. This daily rhythm helps to regulate our sleep/wake cycle and insures a good night’s sleep that helps our mental and physical health.

In addition to going out in the sun light here are some good sleeping habits you can follow to readjust the body clock.

No activities before going to sleep – You should strictly avoid adrenaline before going to sleep. Stay away from anything that is exciting or stressful and yes that includes exercise, TV, or even reading before going to sleep.

Follow a steady sleep routine – Try going to bed at the same time every night. We all know how working in shifts and jet-lag affect sleep: do not emulate them by going to bed at random times each day!

Go to bed early – By going to bed early you wake up naturally instead of being forced by an alarm clock, and it also prevents you from being out of sync with the solar cycle. Going to bed early allows your body to slow crash down and fall asleep.

Only use your bedroom for sleeping – Dedicate a seperate room for sleeping where you don’t do any work or stressful activities. This subconciously tells your body this is the place to sleep and your body slowly forms a habit of it.


Turn these tips in to a routine like brushing your teeth, so that they become a part of your daily life. You don’t think about them, you just do them!

If you take these natural steps everyday it can be very effective in overcoming depression. In fact, studies have shown these to be as effective (or even more so) than traditional therapies. Incorporating these natural steps in your daily life will not only help you overcome depression but also improve the general quality of your life.

Bend your middle finger and touch the thumb as shown in the diagram -touch the skin above the nail of the middle finder with the pad of the thumb, keeping the other 3 fingers straight. This mudra is very useful for ear ailments.

surya mudra

Bend your ring finger and touch the thumb, as in the diagram -touch the skin above the nail of the ring finger with the pad of the thumb, keeping the other 3 fingers straight. This mudra is useful fto remove unwanted fat from the body.

gyan mudra

This is one of, if not the most popular mudra.
Oppose the index finger with the thumb, keeping the other fingers straight. This is a very powerful mudra, useful for treating mental disorders, sleeping disorders (excessive and lack of), weak memory, and hot-tempered individuals.

pran mudra

Oppose the little and ring fingers with the thumb, keeping the other fingers straight. This mudra is useful to decrease the necessity of wearing glasses after a period of time, and for other eye problems.

varun mudra

Oppose the middle finger with the thumb, keeping the other fingers straight. This mudra is useful in disorders such as anemia and skin disease.

vaayu mudra

Bend your index finger and touch the thumb as shown in the diagram -touching the skin above the nail of the index finger with the pad of the thumb, keeping the other 3 fingers straight. This mudra is useful in treating disorders of the joints and stroke (paralysis).

How can there be additional strands of DNA and what does this look like?

The portions of the DNA chain that science has presently identified as the “Double Helix”, represent only the SURFACE portions of the chemical, elemental, and electrical components of the active DNA strands. Science has yet to identify the MULTIDIMENSIONAL spectra of DNA manifestation, and has yet to realize that within the structures of detectable DNA, there are levels of structure and function that direct the operations of the entire genetic blueprint, which are not currently detectable by the contemporary scientific method.

The human DNA imprint will always appear from external analysis, as a 2 strand Double Helix configuration. But what is not understood, is that within the Double Helix there are, and will be progressively more, additional Double Helix strands, which fuse together and add their operational coding into the active DNA imprint. As science evolves into comprehension of the mult-dimensional spectrum, the understanding of the tree structure and function of DNA will progressively advance.

But one does not have to wait for science to catch up with a rapidly evolving humanity in order to begin advancing the functions of their DNA. Through the processes of bioregenesis, we are removing ancient blockages within the human anatomy that have been blocking natural DNA activation, and then we are restoring the Original Organic Imprint for Health, that is the birthright of our species. We are progressively reordering portions of the “junk DNA” and stimulating portions of the DNA into activation.

Why is DNA Activation important right now and how does the Earth affect our DNA Activation level?

We are directly connected to the Earth and exist as part of the Earth. Like a baby that is in their mother’s womb, the body of the mother is actually the OUTER body of the baby. So anything that happens to the mother forms an energetic imprint and affects the child. For example, if the mother smokes or drinks alcohol during the pregnancy, this goes directly to the child and forms imprints, which may manifest as physical birth deformities or genetic problems which eventually manifest into physical dis-ease.

So it is the same thing with the Earth and us. The Earth is OUR outer body. This is why it is called Mother Earth. Our morphogenetic field (form holding blueprint) exists as part of the larger morphogenetic field of the Earth. If something happens to the Earth’s energetic grids, then we inherit these problems into our own grids. Our energetic anatomy is exactly like the Earth’s, with chakras, meridians, axiatonal lines, and DNA. Our 13th chakra is actually one we share with the Earth and exists at the Earth’s core. So if a cataclysm happens with the Earth and it pokes a hole in the Earth’s grids, then what happens is that “hole” is poked into every person’s DNA on the planet.

And this has been one of the main influences and problems with our DNA throughout history as there have been many cataclysms. The Earth distortions in history have actually created a planetary DNA distortion that has made every living organism’s DNA on the planet to falsely appear as Base-4, with only 4 chemicals. Humans are supposed to have 12 chemical nucleotide bases. This would allow us to have 144 physical chemical chromosomes as well, whereas now we only have 46. Also the original Angelic Human DNA Template which most people on the planet have, called the Diamond Sun DNA Template, is 12 strands, allowing for 12 dimensions of consciousness, and is built for transmutation from carbon to silica based body, and eventually pre-matter liquid light. This body is not meant to “die”. It is because of the DNA distortions in ancient history (25,500 B.C) that have blocked people from bringing light into their field and naturally evolving through DNA activation. Most people on the planet only have 3 strands active, which only allows 3 dimensions of consciousness and thus they are stuck in 3D.

We are at a very important point in history right now because we have the ability to regenerate our original organic imprint for health. And we don’t need science and fancy equipment to do this. We are just required to learn how to use what we came in with – our mind-body-spirit system to direct our mind to alter the scalar waves by which our DNA is composed.

We are in the middle of an ascension cycle, which is literally a time continuum shift. From now through 2012, the planet is going through this time continuum shift, which only happens once every 25,556 years (called a Euiago cycle). What is happening is that the particles that make up the Earth’s auric field are speeding up in pulsation rhythm to prepare for this shift into ascension from dimension 3 to dimension 4. Since the particles that make up the Earth’s auric field are speeding up in pulsation rate, and we exist as part of the Earth’s auric field, the particles that make up our OWN auric fields must also speed up. This is happening now through 2012. This means that one must have at least 4 strands of DNA active to make the shift into dimension 4.

And this is why DNA activation is so important now. If you have energetic blockages – auric attachments, karmic imprints, DNA distortions, or unnatural energetic seals, then you will not be able to speed up the particles and accrete the frequencies necessary to make this time continuum shift. Will I feel anything while the DNA Activation is happening?

YES! It depends on how sensitive you are to energy, but most people feel the session very strongly as it is happening. You may notice a tingle or some other sensation in the head area (crown chakra). Purification Meditation

Why do we need to purify? We always want to be free from suffering – even in our dreams we try to be free from problems, fear and danger – but unless we purify, this wish can never be fulfilled. Buddha taught that all the problems we have experienced in the past, are experiencing now, and will experience in the future come from our own negative intentions and actions. It does not matter what we do externally to try to avoid suffering – if the cause of suffering remains in our mind, suffering is what we will experience. Therefore we can see that there is nothing more important than to purify our mind as quickly as we can.

Fortunately, Vajrasattva practice, taught by Buddha, is one of the most powerful purification practices that exists. Through this practice you will feel rejuvenated, re-energized and cleansed.

Kundalini Yoga Breathwork (Pranayama)

In Kundalini Yoga, we use conscious breathing as a tool for balancing mental and emotional states and for increasing vitality in the body. Each breath brings oxygen and life and provides the opportunity to connect consciously to the moment. By breathing slow, deep breaths, we can release tension, bring stillness to the mind, and calm the body physically. Other breathing techniques use a faster, more energized breath (such as “Breath of Fire”) to increase energy in the body, bring focus, and build the inner heat of detoxification in the body. Each breath exercise in Kundalini Yoga has a specific purpose and approach to better the health of the body and mind.



Long Deep Breathing- for Peace and Calm

This breath can be done throughout your day. It is especially useful if you find yourself feeling stressed or anxious. It is simple yet very effective; This breath can help the lungs expand to around 8 times their normal size! Practice several times a day and notice how your mind and body respond!

How to do it:

* Begin by increasing your awareness of how your breath is naturally flowing. Notice where the breath moves in your body and listen to the sound of your inhalation and exhalation.
* After a few breaths, begin to deepen and expand the breath and make sure you are breathing through your nose. As you inhale, draw the breath into the belly- allow the belly to expand with the breath. Continuing this inhalation, expand through the rib cage and upper chest.
* It may be helpful to place one hand on your belly to feel the expansion as your inhale. Take as much time as you need to get a full, deep breath.
* Then, as you begin your exhalation, relax the chest, the rib cage, and, finally, the belly. At the end of your exhalation, the belly should draw in slightly- as if helping the breath move out. The breath should become a bit louder than it was before you began the long, deep breathing.
* Continue this breath, making it slower, deeper, and more complete.


Breath of Fire – for Energy, Focus, and Vitality

Breath of Fire is a rapid, rhythmic, and continuous breath that sounds like powerful sniffing. The breath is forcefully exhaled by rapidly contracting the diaphragm and pulling the navel point toward the spine. The inhale occurs naturally as the diaphragm relaxes and air flows effortlessly back in without a sharp intake or effort. The inhale and exhale are equal length and usually occur 2 to 3 times per second. This breath is great as “pick-me-up” if you are feeling lethargic or unfocused. It can be done throughout your day- for 30 seconds to 3 minutes- if you need to increase your energy.

How to do it:

* Take a deep breath in, through your nose, and feel your stomach relaxing outward. Exhale, through your nose, as you pull the stomach back in.
* Inhale again. As you exhale out this time, pull the solar plexus (the area above the navel) back toward the spine with a pumping motion. The exhaled air should leave the nose in a forceful sniff.
* Immediately relax the solar plexus and let the air come back in with a sniff.
* There should be no pause between the inhalation and exhalation. Continue the pumping motion with the sniffing breath.
* In the beginning, it may be easier to simply concentrate on the exhale as you pull in on the solar pelxus and let the inhale come naturally as you relax the solar plexus.
* At no time should the breath of fire be practiced beyond your current level of comfort. If at any point you begin to feel strain, breathlessness, or pain, stop the attempt at breath of fire and relax the breath.
* If often takes practice and time to become familiar with this breath and, when familiar, there is a sense of joyful rythm and boundless energy.


Left Nostril Breathing – to Soothe a Busy Mind and Rest

This method of breathing is a useful tool when the mind is dizzy with thoughts, there is a sense of nervous tension, or when you are having trouble getting to sleep at night. It is a soothing, calming, cooling breath.

How to do it:

* Start with a long, deep breath (as described above.)
* Place the thumb of your right hand against the right nostril, pressing it closed.
* Allow the breath to move in and out of the left nostril only.
* Keep the breath smooth, slow, and deep.
* If you are feeling congested, usually the left nostril will open with practice.
* The benefit of this technique is best achieved if the breath is kept through the left nostril.
* If practicing this breath when trying to go to sleep, lay on your right side. (This will help direct the breath through the left nostril.)
* Practice for 3-11 minutes, or as long as you feel is needed.

Caffeine: Why We Like It

Do we know how often we consume it?
Caffeine is naturally produced in the leaves, seeds and fruits of many plants. Commonly found in coffee, tea, soft drinks, chocolate and a wide variety of over-the-counter medications. Let’s explore how Ayurveda could explain our daily inclination towards caffeine.

Why do so many enjoy it daily? Ayurveda sees it like this:

Some say they cannot wake up without it; this is usually a kapha-dominate person who enjoys the pick-me-up caffeine offers, without suffering from the usual jitters which plague other dosha-types. It is helpful for those who are slow to rise in the morning or like to sleep alot.

Some enjoy it for the flavor and don’t realize it is also a digestive irritant which flushes out the bowels; this may reinforce the desire for caffeine, as those who suffer from constipation, usually vata-dominate people, could benefit from this side effect. However, caffeine is also dehydrating and can easily give the jitters to the sensitive nervous system of a vata-type, which leads to insomnia and anxiety and is therefore not recommende for vata-types.

Some enjoy the daily ritual of making that fresh cup of coffee or tea, however caffeine is acidic and bitter, despite how much sugar is added. If consumed on an empty stomach before breakfast, it only adds “fuel to the fire,” making the pitta-personality even more impatient and agitated.

Here’s an idea of the amount of caffeine in:

* Coffee, depending upon preparation methods, can contain from 30-120 mg per 8 oz
* Soft Drinks vary from 37-71 mg per 12 oz
* Dark Chocolate, 1 oz = 20 mg
* Anacin, 2 tabs = 64 mg
* Excedrin, 2 tabs = 130 mg
* No-Doze, 1 tab = 200 mg

We recommend you identify your dosha-type and consider whether caffeine’s side-effects are beneficial for your type. If not, you can try organically produced products which will be better for you, or less acidic products like Kona Coffee, available at a local grocer near you.

Remember, what we eat and drink can taste good and be satisfying, but there is a more serious function to these daily habits, they serve to create energy and supply the body with all the tools (essential nutrients) it needs to support a healthy immune system and sustain life.
